Ask Matt Savage
Number of players at final table
December 14, 2004
Q. Why are there only 6 players at a final table?
— Anonymous
A. This is not always the case at the WSOP they are 8, 9, or 10. It may seem that way because the World Poker Tour and other televised events want to have less players to help with camera angles and so that they do not last too long creating overtime for their crews.
