Asian Poker Tour moving forward

June 07, 2008

Coming out of the APT Manila I am more excited about the future of poker in Asia and more importantly poker overall than ever before. I truly believe that Asia can be the next boom that poker desperately needs right now. 316 players competed for the $1,000,000 prize pool and the APT ended up adding $273,000 to meet the guarantee. Most CEO's might pull the plug after taking a loss like that but APT CEO Chris Parker considered the event a huge success and why not, the tournament was only announced only 8 weeks before the start of the event.
Chris even raised the buy-in to $5,300 and guarantee to $1,500,000 for the next leg in Macau. Please join the Savage Tournaments team in Macau August 26-31, 2008. Our team will return back to Macau for the second year in a row this time with the Asian Poker Tour.

Asian Poker Tour- Manila Winner David Saab

June 04, 2008

Although I have been involved with the Aussie Millions for the last three years I had never met or even heard of David Saab. It is strange because this guy can talk! In the Asian Poker Tour event recently held in Manila David Saab and I crossed paths early in the tournament when he was table captain of table 5. It generally irritates me when players are so outspoken as David is but by the end of the tournament he won me over. I think David will be a good representative of the Asian Poker Tour as he joins Tony G. as the first two APT winners.
